Trip Highlights

  • Mountain and glacier views
  • Bald eagle sightings are very common
  • Incredible photo opportunities with mountain views
  • Swim in the crystal clear waters
  • Excellent camping cuisine cooked by your guide
  • No cell service. Unplug and unwind
  • Relax on sandy beaches

This scenic journey begins once we turn off the world renowned Sea to Sky highway and drive up the Squamish valley FSR. On a winding road you will thoroughly enjoy this drive through a hollow and lush coastal forest that feels rather enchanted, with views of the broken glaciers from the Ashlu Mountain range.

Our river journey begins at the Elaho – Squamish confluence and ends at the Ashlu bridge. With glacial water that is crystal clear and about 8 degrees Celsius (46 Fahrenheit), your senses will be heightened as we are submersed in this wilderness environment. As we float and paddle through the braids of the upper Squamish river we will be in awe of the surrounding vistas. With Broken glaciers over head and waterfalls around the corner there is always a view to satisfy. Along with the views, the chances of seeing bald eagles, or reeling in a trout are high. There are many options to camp on this river, gravel bars, beaches, forest groves, we have all the flexibility to do what we want when we want.

This river trip is ideal for anyone looking to experience the wild in a convenient and accessible location. No experience camping or paddling necessary, anyone can enjoy, relax and learn about the wilderness. Weather it's flora and fauna, making a fire or even a river side sauna, there are many ways to get creative in the river banks. Leave your emails and worries behind as this trip is beyond the reaches of cell service to ensure a truly relaxing and rejuvenating wilderness experience.

Always good fun out with the Outdoor Explore team. First time out with these guys I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up, but they helped make me feel comfortable and safe the whole time. Solid, confident, and proficient guides. Amazing way to visit the outdoors, seeing places that would be hard to access alone....
