All the benefits of a multi-day backpacking trip, without the need to carry heavy packs and set up camp every day. Camp on the side of Lightning Lake, tucked in beneath steep forested mountains. Head out each day on different guided day hikes varying in distance, all aimed at a moderate fitness level and hiking ability.
Manning Park is located on the site of historic trade routes between the Okanagan and the Coast. With a wide variety of trails, scenery, wildlife and flora/fauna, you'll love exploring this wild and pristine corner of British Columbia.
The Cascade Mountains spread up the West Coast of the USA, culmination just across the border in Canada. These mountains are incredibly rugged, with huge glaciers and steep jagged peaks. Manning Park is based at the very top of the range, where the terrain becomes more forested and mellow, but still offers views of impressive peaks and scenery.
Famous for it's alpine meadows and wild flowers, Manning Park has gained a reputation as one of B.C's most beautiful Provincial Parks. This is a perfect place for wildlife spotting. Bear sightings are common, as well as many other mountain dwelling specials such as marmots and Columbian ground squirrels.
If you're a keen botanist then you'll love the the wild flowers that fill the alpine meadows with an impressive array of colors, and the blooming heather gives the hills a pink/purple hue.
