British Columbia is famous for lots of things, but most of all, it's famous for its beautiful mountainous landscapes. Nowhere showcases this natural beauty better than Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Our 5 day Garibaldi Park Trek takes you right through the center of the park, hitting all the incredible highlights along the way. This includes Garibaldi Lake, Panorama Ridge, Black Tusk, Helm Glacier, and much more!

Each night we will move camp as we trek through through varied terrain, from lava flows to glaciated peaks. Summit Panorama ridge for incredible 360 degree views of the Coast Mountains and the deep turquoise Waters of Garibaldi Lake far below. Camp on the shores of Garibaldi Lake and watch the sun rise over distant snowy peaks.

This is the adventure of a lifetime, perfect for anyone who has some previous trekking experience, a good level of fitness, and a desire to challenge themselves in some of the most stunning terrain imaginable.

Trip details


Day 1 (13km, +700m):

  • Meet your guide in Whistler (location TBD). Briefing, waiver signing, gear check.
  • Shuttle to Cheakamus Lake trailhead
  • Hike to Cheakamus lake for lunch
  • Cross the Cheakamus river, before climbing up 700m to reach the sub-alpine
  • Set up camp at Helm Creek, below the mighty Black Tusk

Day 2 (12km, +400m):

  • Wake up to the warm sun hitting your tent
  • Pack up camp and hike to the foot of a glacier to explore ice caves
  • Return to the main trail and continue hiking through alpine meadows
  • Reach beautiful Garibaldi Lake. Set up camp
  • Enjoy dinner by the lake as the mountains are illuminated by the evening sun

Day 3 (16km, +1,200m)

  • Wake up early to watch the sun rise, or relax by the lake
  • Today, we'll leave the tents set up and head out with lighter packs
  • Hike through alpine meadows. Perfect opportunity for wild flower viewing
  • Climb up Panorama Ridge for 360 views of Garibaldi Park and Garibaldi lake far below
  • Lunch on the summit, then return down to the meadows.
  • If time permits, optional hike up to Black Tusk
  • Return to Garibaldi Lake camp

Day 4 (10km, +600m):

  • We'll leave the camp set up again and head out on our 2nd day hike
  • Follow a more rugged trail up to Mt Price
  • Lunch on the summit, with epic views of Mt Garibaldi surrounded by glaciers
  • Return to our camp site for the final dinner by the lake

Day 5 (10km, +150m):

  • Pack up camp for the last time
  • Say goodbye to Garibaldi lake and begin our hike down
  • Stop at the Barrier viewpoint along the way for views down a deep valley
  • Shuttle pick up at the bottom of the trail
  • Drive back to Whistler for final celebration, high fives, share some memories

Itinerary Disclaimer
Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary, but as this is adventure travel in a remote mountain region, we cannot guarantee that we will stick to this plan. Weather conditions and the health of participants can all contribute to changes. The trip leader/guide will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but an easy going nature will be an asset!


Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are included while on the trip.

Breakfasts consist of oatmeal or granola with mixed toppings and dried fruit, tea and coffee. Great for fueling a full day of adventures.

Lunch varies from day to day, but often consists of wraps or sandwiches with different fillings e.g. cheese, dried meat, falafel, hummus, veg, etc.

Dinners are provided by our partner Nomad Nutrition. These super tasty meals are light weight, full of wholesome ingredients, and packed with energy. Exactly what you need after an exciting day in the mountains.

We can cater to any dietary requirements. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements BEFORE your trip.


Tented accommodation (4 nights) is included in the trip price. We use MSR Elixir tents, which are spacious, warm and comfortable. 1, 2, or 3 person options are available.

Please bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping pad (e.g. Thermarest). If you do not have either of these, please select the rental option when booking your trip or contact us to arrange a rental.

Early season (May/June)

Snow sticks around in the mountains well into the summer months. For earlier season trips, expect to be hiking on snow for the majority of the route. Suitable waterproof footwear with good tread is required!

Carrying a pack

This trip requires you to carry a large multi-day backpack with you personal equipment (sleeping bag, clothes, rain gear, etc.) and some shared camping equipment (tent, food, cooking gear, etc.). Previous experience carrying a multi-day backpack is recommended.
