Discover the heart of Garibaldi Provincial Park, and experience why BC is world famous for stunning mountain scenery. You'll be bragging about these views to your friends for years to come.

If you're looking to push yourself and reach new heights on a challenging and exciting backcountry camping trip, then this is the trip for you. Spend 2 nights camping on the shores of Garibaldi Lake, with unforgettable sunset and sunrise views and crystal clear waters. Take a dip in the glacial waters, or relax and read a book far away from the distractions of the city.

On the 2nd day, we will head out on a challenging hike up to Panorama ridge. This hike involves some steep terrain that is best suited for hikers with a good level of fitness and experience. The scene from the summit are well worth it, with 360 degree views of turquoise lakes, volcanic peaks, icy glaciers, lava flows, alpine meadows, and deep forested valleys. Join us for the experience of a lifetime, in Canada's super-natural West Coast mountains.

Itinerary

Day 1 (9km, +1,000m)

  • Meet your guide either at the trailhead, or at the pickup location if transport is booked
  • Introduction, waiver signing, safety talk, gear check and pack bags
  • Hike up to Garibaldi Lake, stopping at a viewpoint along the way
  • Set up camp on the shores of Garibaldi Lake
  • Dinner with a view


Day 2 (12km, +650m)

  • Wake up early to catch the sunrise, or rest at camp
  • Breakfast by the lake
  • Hike up to Panorama Ridge for incredible 360 degree views
  • Return to camp via alpine meadows
  • Relax in camp, take a dip in Garibaldi Lake


Day 3 (9km)

  • Relaxing morning taking in the views one last time
  • Pack up camp
  • Hike back down to the vehicles
  • High five, celebrate, say goodbye to your guide

Itinerary Disclaimer
Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary, but as this is adventure travel in a remote mountain region, we cannot guarantee that we will stick to this plan. Weather conditions and the health of participants can all contribute to changes. The trip leader/guide will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but an easy going nature will be an asset!

Food

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are included while on the trip.

Breakfasts consist of oatmeal or granola with mixed toppings and dried fruit, tea and coffee. Great for fueling a full day of adventures.

Lunch varies from day to day, but often consists of wraps or sandwiches with different fillings e.g. cheese, dried meat, falafel, hummus, veg, etc.

Dinners are provided by our partner Nomad Nutrition. These super tasty meals are light weight, full of wholesome ingredients, and packed with energy. Exactly what you need after an exciting day in the mountains.

We can cater to any dietary requirements. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements BEFORE your trip.

Accomodation

Tented accommodation (2 nights) is included in the trip price. We use MSR Elixir tents, which are spacious, warm and comfortable. 1, 2, or 3 person options are available.

Please bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping pad (e.g. Thermarest). If you do not have either of these, please select the rental option when booking your trip or contact us to arrange a rental.

Early season (May/June)

Snow sticks around in the mountains well into the summer months. For earlier season trips, expect to be hiking on snow for the majority of the route. Suitable waterproof footwear with good tread is required!

Carrying a pack

This trip requires you to carry a large multi-day backpack with you personal equipment (sleeping bag, clothes, rain gear, etc.) and some shared camping equipment (tent, food, cooking gear, etc.). Previous experience carrying a multi-day backpack is recommended.
