This trip has it all! Exciting hiking with stunning views all the way. Snowy mountains all around. Colorful alpine meadows. Sunset and sunrise views from the door of your tent! Great food, great guides, comfortable camp site. What more could you want?

Your trip starts with a hike through lush evergreen forest to reach Red Heather Cabin, a small hut on the edge of the alpine, and a perfect spot for lunch. Once above the trees our hike takes us along Paul Ridge which has panoramic views of the Coastal Mountains, including numerous ancient volcanic peaks and icy glaciers. The alpine meadows are full of wild flowers and heather which gives a pink/purple hue to the surroundings.

Our camp site for the evening is at Elfin Lakes, a pair of small alpine tarns which remain frozen well into July. Later in the season, these lakes are ideal for paddling and swimming (if you're brave enough). We will set up camp on small wooden platforms, with views across a deep valley to distant glaciated mountains. We'll watch the sun set while eating a delicious and well-deserved meal by the lake.

Rise early the next morning to catch an epic sun rise as the surrounding mountains become illuminated with an orange glow. Sip coffee from your sleeping bag, or go for a morning stroll to breathe in the crisp, clean air.

Trust us, this is an adventure you will be talking about for years to come!

What our customers say about Outdoor Explore guided adventures

Always good fun out with the Outdoor Explore team. First time out with these guys I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up, but they helped make me feel comfortable and safe the whole time. Solid, confident, and proficient guides. Amazing way to visit the outdoors, seeing places that would be hard to access alone....
