The Sunshine Coast offers many options for scenic canoeing in beautiful wilderness settings. Ocean canoeing is a brilliant way to explore some of the inlets that weave around the Sunshine Coast, and our multi-day canoeing trips allow us to get deeper into the mountains and escape civilization.
This canoe adventure takes place in Seschelt Inlet, a popular area for canoeing and kayaking. We will camp on idyllic beaches with views of rocky peaks, cook on open camp fires and watch the sunset over the West Coast Mountains. This trip is beginner friendly and there will be time allocated for instruction and practice before we depart. With 4-6 day options, we can cater to those looking for an introduction to Canadian multi-day canoeing, to those who want to push themselves and explore deeper into the BC wilderness.
This is the perfect setting to view wildlife. Common sightings include bald eagles, black bears, beavers and deer. The forests are laden with Cedar, Spruce and Fir trees, including some ancient old growth forests.
The first day will be a travel and practice day. Already on the Sunshine Coast? Contact us to discuss a different pickup location.
Please note: prices shown below are for public trips, meaning other guests may be on the same trip. This trip will only run once 3 or more guests are booked for the selected date.

The night before the trip departs, we will meet at a Vancouver location TBD for a pre-trip meeting and gear discussion.
The itinerary varies depending on the length of the trip. Each day while on the water will involve canoeing between 10km and 20km. The days will start by packing up camp, loading the canoes, paddling to our destination with a stop for lunch, then setting up camp and resting in the afternoon. On longer trips, there may be options for day trips from camp.
On day 1, we will depart from North Vancouver (Lonsdale Quay) and catch a ferry to the Sunshine Coast. After a scenic ferry crossing, we will drive to our camp stopping at a couple of attractions along the way. In the afternoon there will be instructional lessons from your guide on how to load canoes and perform basic paddle strokes.
The final day will involve packing up camp, canoeing to the take-out point, cleaning and loading the canoes and then driving to catch an afternoon ferry. We will stop for a celebration meal at a local restaurant/brewery (not included in price) on our way back to North Vancouver. Drop-off will be at Lonsdale Quay.
Camping accommodation is provided while on the trek.
Our tents are supplied by MSR and are lightweight and weatherproof. They are very roomy to give you the most comfortable camping experience. We can provide either 1, 2 or 3 man options, depending on the number of people in your group.
Please bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping pad/Thermarest. If you are unable to bring your own, please contact us and we can arrange a rental.
Group Size: Small
Groups of 3 - 7 guests per trip. For smaller or larger groups, or for private trips, please contact Outdoor Explore.
Trip Timing: May - October
This trip is best in late spring or through the summer months with warm, stable weather and longer days.
This trip is aimed at those with a moderate level of fitness. While canoeing can be relaxing, the wind and tide can cause difficulties requiring extra endurance. We aim to do most of our paddling in the mornings to make the most of calmer conditions.
