Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question that isn’t in this list? contact us and tell us what’s on your mind.

How fit do I need to be?

We can cater to any fitness level. The trips on our website have a difficulty rating which will give you an indication of the level of fitness you need for that trip. Alternatively, get in touch and we can plan a custom trip, specifically designed to suit your fitness level.

Do I need previous experience?

It depends on the trip you are choosing. Some of our trips require a level of prior experience (e.g. carrying a heavy pack, or canoeing long distances). If you are concerned, please get in touch. We are also able to design a custom trip to suit your level of experience. Just drop us an email!

What equipment do I need?

You will need to bring suitable clothing for the trip you have selected. This should include breathable/quick dry layers, waterproof top and bottoms, warm layers for evenings, spare clothing, warm hat and gloves. We also ask that you bring your own sleeping bag, sleeping pad and backpack. It may be able to rent this equipment from us for an additional fee. A more in-depth gear list will be provided after booking, or drop us an email.

What equipment do you provide?

We will provide all communal and camping equipment (please bring your own sleeping bag and pad). This includes tents, stoves, cooking gas, pots/bowls/utensils and all safety equipment (first aid kit, satellite communication). We also provide all food while on trip.

What kind of food can I expect while on trip?

We provide all the food while we're on the trip, and we can be very flexible to meet any dietary requirements. Breakfasts will consist of oatmeal or granola with assorted toppings. Lunch is usually wraps or sandwiches with cheese, meats, falafel, vegetables, hummus, etc. Most dinners are provided by our partners Nomad Nutrition, along with soup, tea, coffee and deserts. We will also bring lots of snacks.

Where do the trips depart from?

The location varies depending on the trip chosen. We are able to provide transport from Vancouver, in which case we pick up and drop off from Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. Click here for more information on pick up location.

How do I book a trip?

There are 2 ways to book a trip. Either select a trip from our website and book through the trip page, or contact us to book a custom/private trip. Payments are made via credit card using our online payment system. For custom trips, we will send you an invoice to be paid online. All online payments are secured using Stripe payments. After payment, we will ask you to fill in an online booking form and send you a copy of our waiver. Click here for more booking information.

Are there any age restrictions?

Generally speaking, our minimum age is 12 years old for most of our trips. However, we are able to cater to younger children on custom/private trips. If you would like to experience the wilderness with your family, please get in touch and we can work with you to design a trip that the whole family can enjoy!
